X-rental: Wheels of Fire (1985)

My second philippino-movie for today, in my x-rental section :) A Cirio Santiago-production, and it's a vhs-release from Juno Media. Haven't seen it though, but I gave it a try... discovered it was cut to pieces and fucked it. So I guess I have to see Wheels of Fire some other time.

How much of it did you watch? I'm just wondering where it was cut as I have this in my pile-to-watch but altho it's from same company my version is the Danish release.

Ten-fifteen minutes maybe. I've never liked watching cut movies. But maybe I give it a try anyway, but it will be with very low expectations.

I'm on Facebook and today Andrew Leavold made a little interview with Bert Spoor who was in many of these films, and about EQUALIZER Bert said:

"I cannot remember much of the Equalizer, I did the routines and died again several times. A lot of background action, being blown away and fly the sky. There was a small incident however I won't forget. There was a little tree left in the frame, and this little tree was suppose to break at gunfire. At action the little blast made some noise and ... Read moresmoke, but the tree was still there. At take two, just about action, this sucker all of a sudden falls down, very slowly. It's quiet on the set then everybody starts laughing when Cirio was cursing: Putanginamo. Third take the tree was set back to possision, I think this one worked..."

The Swedish version is really cut, probably longer than fifteen minutes. The end battle we doesn´t even get to see at all! I bought mine uncut version from Ebay on a dvd-r, expensive too.

Do you remember how long the Swedish and the uncut versions run for? Cheers.

Ah, cool. Bert is in it! :)

I guess I can get a dvd-r cheap from ZDD: http://www.zddvisualmedia.com/index.php?a=121&id=11864

I just find it so boring to download this stuff.

Mine dvd-r was only 81,05 long so the swedish version is probably lacking 10 minutes. I had it to but threw the tape out. So i was totally off with the time before, sorry about that!

Thanks Lizzardking.

Fred, no that interview bit is from Bert's role in another Mad Max clone; EQUALIZER 2000. I just thought it would be fun to bring it here.

I pulled out my Danish EQUALIZER 2000 from Juno Media and watched it tonight. Very entertaining! And they were all in it: Richard Norton, Don Gordon, Eric Hahn, Henry Strzalkofski, Nick Nicholson, Vic Diaz, Bert Spoor. And dir by Cirio Santiago. Yay!
